What are the benefits to purchasing rechargeable batteries as opposed to buying new ones? Let us look at four primary considerations.
Rechargeable batteries offer convenience in the simple fact that you are not running to the store every week to replace the batteries that just died in your digital camera or other device that drains the batteries faster than you can buy them. Rechargeable batteries last up to five times as long.
The amount of time and money you will save when you purchase a rechargeable battery pack is the same as if you went to the store and purchased over five hundred disposable batters. You will only purchase a battery charger and batteries once every three years. Disposable batteries fill our landfills with more than one thousand batteries on a regular basis especially with all of the devices we use that require frequent battery changes.
You can substitute higher capacity rechargeable batteries into most devices that use standard alkaline batteries. Ideally, rechargeable batteries provide better performance in high drain devices like digital cameras, MP3 players, portable electronics, etc. The objective in developing the education program "TOYS, YOU, and the REAL WORLD"
Is to educate the young kids and there parents in realizing how important it is to create a safe world. The purpose of the lessons is to foster activism and a greater awareness in children by teaching them to be educated consumers. This curriculum stresses the use of critical thinking, participation skills, and focuses on the younger consumers and gives them real world knowledge with experience that will channel into other areas of their life and prepare them for the real world of adulthood. However, are useful and last longer in all low drain devices as well, kids toys, flashlights, etc. If you prefer rechargeable alkaline batteries, their performance is low, however rechargeable up to twenty times. If you were to discard, a rechargeable alkaline battery there is a possibility that it is unusable and will have to be disposed of.

So be sure to follow the manufacturer's recharging instructions carefully. Compare that to having to purchase disposable batteries repeatedly. With alkaline batteries, the voltage drops rapidly when used in power intensive applications such as digital cameras. This explains why you can only take 30-40 pictures in some cameras using alkaline batteries.
Ni-MH batteries designed for power intensive applications. Ni-MH batteries maintain a high and consistent voltage during most of their discharge. You can take up to 200 pictures in the same camera using Ni-MH batteries. Ni-MH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) rechargeable batteries will last for up to 3 years. A variety of chargers that allow you to recharge as quickly as you need from value priced overnight chargers to high-speed 15-minute chargers. The best way to manage your power needs is by having two sets of rechargeable batteries. This way you can have a spare set ready to use all the time so you will never run out. You can also get in-car chargers so that you can recharge at home or on the road. This keeps toys, media players, and other entertainment devices running on long trips.
Disposable batteries can produce the following potential hazards. Such as, pollute the lakes, streams, and rivers as the metals vaporize into the air as they burn. In solid waste landfills, they contribute to possible heavy metal leakage. They expose the environment, both and air and water to lead and acid, which contain strong corrosive acids. These acids may cause burns and/or cause danger to our skin and eyes.
Using rechargeable batteries reduces household waste. Billions of ordinary batteries thrown away every year will end up in landfills. Rechargeable batteries reused hundreds of times, which help reduce the impact disposable batteries have on the environment. Up to 1000 less disposable batteries go to landfills for every one rechargeable battery used. Rechargeable batteries will replace ordinary batteries in almost any appliance. Rechargeable batteries are particularly well suited for high-drain appliances. Other products that are ideal for rechargeable include mobile electronics like MP3 players, a Walkman, a portable CD player, radio cassette players, portable GPS devices, warlike talkies, remote controlled (RC) toys, electronic games, portable telephones, electric razors, etc. Rechargeable batteries save thousands of dollars per year for many consumers. Just think of the savings for a family with children and all the electronic toys there are now. Not only do consumers win in the end, so does the environment.
