Computerized Kids Toys At What Age Should Children Get Them?
When it comes to computerized kids toys, there really is no limit on the age. Advances in technology have made it possible to put hi-tech toys in the hands of nearly every child, no matter his or her age. Even mobiles hanging over your baby's crib are most likely computerized in some way. But, when most parents think of computerized toys, they think of interactive toys or robotic toys. In this case, parents are often left wondering when to start giving these toys to their children.
Infants
Believe it or not, there are actually a number of computerized kids' toys available for infants. These toys help introduce your infant to the amazing world of technology, while offering an educational component as well. The LittleTouch LeapPad, for example, is actually meant for children as young as 6 months old. This computerized toy brings books to life by making them interactive and exciting. Your young reader can touch the pictures for delightful surprises, such as musical sounds and fun rhymes. Several different stories are available for LeapPad, ensuring you will never run out of ones for your child to love.
Toddler
Toddlers can also enjoy computerized kids toys. The Leapster Learning System, for example, helps your child learn while also getting more comfortable with computerized toys. The Leapster Learning System is filled with action packed games to increase learning. There are also several different levels and games available, making this computerized toy great for preschool and elementary aged children. This toy is similar to a handheld videogame player, but is more durable and made specifically with young kids in mind.
LeapPad also offers a more advanced version for kids of this age. This more advanced version still lets your child interact with books. This version includes a pen that works in much the same way as a computer mouse. This version of LeapPad takes the fun and learning to a new level by allowing your child to touch a pen to certain words to hear them pronounced. A piano keyboard, human anatomy game, and a map are also available for the LeapPad.
The computerized toy fun doesn't stop here, though. You can even purchase toy laptops for kids this age! The Barbie B-Bright Laptop, for example, is made specifically for kids as young as three. This durable laptop will make your toddler feel like she is just like mommy or daddy when she plays the then different games that teach valuable skills such as numbers, letters, and memory. Or, purchase the Learning Laptop by Vtech. This toy is not as childish and looks more like a real laptop computer, complete with mouse. It teaches valuable skills, as well and even retains information about your child's learning progress.

Early Elementary
The Nitro Notebook is a great pretend laptop for the early elementary aged child. This computerized toy is filled with 80 different activities teaching skills such as social studies, math, language, and even Spanish! The Nitro Notebook also tracks your child's progress and increases the level of difficulty as your child's skills improve.
LeapPad also offers some great products for this age level. In fact, they have a series of fantastic books geared specifically toward the first grader and the second grade child. With LeapPad, your child can become a stronger reader while enjoying his computerized toy.
Mid to Upper Elementary
By the time your child reaches mid to upper elementary age, the computerized toy options are seemingly endless. If your child has been exposed to different forms of computerized toys since she was young, she will most likely pick up on these toys rather quickly. In fact, you might be surprised to discover that your child knows more about these gadgets and gizmos than you!
Aside from the popular handheld videogames and videogame systems, such as the Xbox, the Playstation, and the Nintendo, there are many other computerized toys your kids will be sure to love. Just as with the younger ages, Leapster electronic books are available for mid to upper elementary aged children. The Pixter Multi-Media System is another computerized toy your child will certainly enjoy. This handheld system is filled with over 100 games, tools, and activities. Your child can even watch a video on the system or create his own videos and cartoons.
