How often have you seen a group of little girls with their heads together, only to suddenly break apart giggling loudly? How many times have you entered the home of someone who has a little girl, only to be stunned by the amount of pink clothes, toys, and other items that have been accumulated? One thing is for certain; little girls differ vastly from little boys in their tastes! It is no surprise therefore that toy manufacturers have honed in on this phenomenon and have created a vast number of toys specifically designed with little girls in mind. Here is a list of the top toys just for girls.
• Do you know the name "Bratz"? If not, you have not clued in to the tastes of little girls. Bratz are Barbie dolls with an attitude. Scantily clad in midriff exposing shirts and heavily made up, these dolls offer a plethora of clothes and other accessories that would make Barbie blush with envy. The latest addition is the Dance 'n Skate Club, which feature a smoothie bar, dance floor, roller rink, and other items. Bratz themselves have made it on anything and everything from little girls' backpacks to lunchboxes, t-shirts, and accessories. They are definitely at the top of the list.
• Not to be outdone, Barbie, the other longtime favorite of little girls everywhere, has come out with the luxurious Cruise Ship. Barbie dolls may now engage little girls in the world of pretend play on a tropical cruise. Sound effects complete the illusion.
• Another favorite for the younger girls is the tea set. This toy simply consists of a lidded teapot, four cups, saucers, spoons, a sugar bowl and a milk jug. Little girls love to play tea party, and endless hours are spent inviting imaginary friends, seating stuffed animals around the table, pouring imaginary tea, and hold great dinner conversations.

Most baby books also tend to romanticize the mother who stays at home, as if she really spends her entire day doing nothing but beaming at the baby and whipping up educational toys from pieces of string, rather than balancing cooing time with laundry, cleaning, shopping and cooking.

• Stuffed animals are also favorite toys for any little girl. Depending on her favorite animal, she might prefer stuffed monkeys, over-stuffed bunnies, but this is simply a question of taste. Any little girl will instantly fall in love with stuffed animals, and she will hug them for hours to come. Some of the more successful manufacturers have found that the stuffed animal idea can also be used to break into other markets. The Care Bear manufacturers, for example, have recently designed a story reading bear which now gets parents in search of an educational toy to consider this little bear for something other than her extreme cuteness.
• Dolls are a sure winner when it comes to capturing the imagination and fancy of little girls. While not all dolls are created equal, it is important to note that there are a variety of dolls on the market, each in tune with a different aspect of a little girl's taste in mind. Some dolls are crafted for make up, while others are there for bathing. Some dolls have endless accessories for clothes changes, while others have other accessories for play, such as spoons, food, diapers, strollers, and so forth. There is a little doll out there for every little girl!
As you can see, toys for girls have not changed so much in name as one might have imagined. They still appear to follow the traditional patterns, yet have stayed in step with time so as not to become boring and stale for the tastes of their little playmates. It is not wonder then that some of the names that were hot in the 1970's and 1980's are coming back and still as popular as ever. Similarly, it only goes to show that the movement to create unisex toys has pretty much failed. Little girls and little boys are simply too different to truly engage them in play and capture their imaginations by simply giving them toys that follow the mistaken idea of "one size fits all." Little girls and little boys are too different in their developmental stages to buy into the notion that they should be able to enjoy and play with the same toys on a consistent basis. So go ahead and be politically incorrect, buy your little girl a gender specific toy and enjoy it!

Cheap Christmas Gift By Ofelia Underwood We’ve all gotten a terrible cheap Christmas gift that is clearly something that was picked up at the last minute without any thought, and obvious that the giver did not spend much money.
