Is bath time a time of struggle and tears at your house? Do you and your spouse have to spell out the word "bath" so as not to let the kids know what they're in for? Does bath time evoke high-pitched protests that one bath a week should be more than sufficient for the average six year old? If this is your household on any given night, you will be happy to know that there are some great bath toys on the market that will turn the drudgery of bath time into a fun experience for all involved. Sure, you know the standard bath toy fare that seems to revolve around rubber ducks and plastic fish that seem to float on their sides, but do you know the latest and the greatest toys that actually will have the kids beg to take a bath? If you have not heard, read on and be amazed! Here are six great bath toys for kids that will have them come back for more.

Little girls will be delighted to find out about a new doll that is especially designed to take a bath with the child! Known as a Corolle doll, this little vanilla scented creation named Tidoo Suce-Pouce can not only bathe but even float! It is a wonderful bath time attendant and mom will love the fact that the doll is filled with quick drying polystyrene pellets that will permit for the doll to become a regular member of the bedroom cast soon after bath time.

Of course everyone enjoys crayons, and the specially manufactured bath time crayons promise much fun. Imagine playing tic-tac-toe on the side of the bathtub while junior is soaking in some nice lavender bubble bath to get him ready for bed! What a wonderful way of settling in for the evening without the usual bedtime drama.

Special bath mitts and even musical waterproof squeeze toys make for wonderful additions to the bath time ritual. Act out Peter and the wolf, play the story of Noah's Ark, or reenact Noah and the great big fish, and be amazed at the creativity your child will evidence.

 Bit of History
Man hath still either toys or care:
But hath no root, nor to one place is tied,
But ever restless and irregular,
About this earth doth run and ride.
He knows he hath a home, but scarce knows where;
He says it is so far,
That he has quite forgot how to go there.
—Henry Vaughan (1622–1695)

A fourth great bath toy for kids is the plastic fishing pole with accompanying fish. Usually these fish have a metal attachment that will allow them to be "hooked" on the fishing pole via the strength of a magnet. Other variations offer a plastic loop through with the plastic hook of the fishing pole will fit. What a wonderful way to improve upon a child's hand-eye coordination!

Another amazing toy for the younger set is the water wheel. Water may be scooped inside a retaining cup, and as it pours through the contraption, it will cause the wheel to spin. The youngest kids as well as toddlers will love this toy and will be sure to keep it filled with water while you are able to shampoo the child's hair and even get all of the shampoo rinsed out!

The last toy that is worth mentioning in this collection of amazing bath toys is the watering can. While it may be odd to think of a watering can as a toy, it is indeed possible to entertain a child for a long time with this simple gadget. The trick is to make a game out of filling and emptying this watering can, especially over a child's sudsy head.

As you can see, bath time does not have to be a time of struggle and tears. Instead, it can be a time of family fun, where children can explore, create, and simply be entertained rather than bide their time in hopes of escaping. Whether you have a young artist in your family who will love to create some bathtub pictures, a little fisherman in training who will scoop the little plastic fish out of the water in the blink of an eye, or a future gardener who will water imaginary plants and flowers to ensure a healthy crop, bath toys are an integral part of a child's learning and with so many options available, you are almost guaranteed to find something appropriate your child will love! So go ahead and take a look!
